We hope this newsletter finds you reflecting on a week of serving your community. As you look back, what gave you the most satisfaction? What did this tell you about yourself and how are you going to leverage this strength next week?
To those of you who managed to get to one of Perry Rush's meetings on Thursday or Friday, thank you. We didn't have a lot of notice and to manage to get good turnouts across four Auckland venues in the space of a week is a testament to the importance we all place on contribution to the system beyond our own schools. We hope that Perry heads out of Auckland with a clear picture of the size of our issues and the challenges we face educating students in our super-sized context.
A number of schools across the country have decided to continue with Alert Level 2 drop off routines. One interesting point to note is the fact that many schools had noticed a change in their students during Level 2 and decided to pursue the gains noted - schools independently arrived at the same conclusion so there is merit in investigating the reasons for this observation. There will be many opinions from communities about this news. The APPA have been approached for media comment from numerous outlets and we maintain our support for schools to make decisions that are best for their communities.
We hope the new newsletter format is useful, we welcome your feedback.
Have a great end to the week
Ngā mihi
